English literature has various masterpiece , thus it includes effect of other languages. And also English literature is divided into a lot of parts. For instance ; Old English literature ( Anglo-Saxon Period), Middle English literature , English Renaissance.
Old English period was affected Germanic tribes in England after the settlement of the Saxon ;therefore, works of this term includes other genres.Besides the old literature is different from now. For instance ''thy'' was used instead of ''your''. The most work is epic poem Beowulf in these periods. He has achieved national epic status in England. Actually I believe that the highest form of literature is poetry, so poems of this periods will be more effect me. We learned metaphor and simile importance in literature. They play important role in literature.
Consequently we learned about history of literature and periods of literature. I believe that this course will develop our english knowledge ; therefore, we never give up researching the life of writers and history of literature.
